Marc Nimoy was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has been called many things including but not limited to: musician, teacher, programmer, and sound artist. Some of his performance opportunities have included chamber groups, world music ensembles, rock bands, laptop duos, and an electronic pop band with his brother, not surprisingly named The Nimoys.
Marc often uses technology to conceive of music in new ways. His installation, Box-Song, is a room-sized musical instrument in which sound arises via touch-sensors and lights, resulting in a fun experience that blurs the lines between audience, performer, and instrument. As a project facilitator and teacher, he enjoys helping others whether it be for implementing new technologies or clarifying the communication of their artistic intent. He has lectured on topics like "Conceptual Issues in Musical Interactivity for Performance" and "Tutorials in Music Synthesis & Graphical Interface design."
Aside from these musical endeavors, Marc's appreciation of things like decaf coffee and the way trees blow in the wind are equally as inspiring to him.
