Strathmore presents the east coast premiere of Los Angeles Electric 8. A chamber octet of electric guitars adapt music ranging from organ works to wind ensembles and Indonesian gamelan pieces, this ensemble performs an inspired program that explores the connections between traditional Indonesian music and American minimalist music. “Extremely exciting, not to mention enjoyable to listen to…gives the feeling of being on the ground floor of something fresh and new” (allMusic.com).
